He taught the school of service in many countries and owned and operated private service schools in Aruba and Maui. His experience as an executive hotel director required him to play a constant role as a coach and trainer, understanding how to engage employees on all levels. His upbeat, interactive and motivational style of facilitating “blended learning” has touched and influenced associates and leaders in all areas of hotels, clubs and restaurant organizations. He currently serves as the Director of Corporate Programming at “The Peoples Improv Theater” in New York City. In 2009, he developed the New York State Accredited Continuing Legal Education Program, “Improv(ed) Legal Skills” where lawyers learn the techniques of Improv to gain an edge in their legal career. Tommy is an award-winning comedian, writer and producer and has written and performed critically acclaimed comedy with the Fordham Underground Comedy Troupe for over five years. His work has appeared in venues such as Caroline's on Broadway, Joe's Pub at “The Public Theatre”, and The Cherry Lane Theatre. He has toured the comedy festival circuit including performances in Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Los Angeles, Austin and the New York Comedy Festival Sponsored by Comedy Central. In 2008, he won "Best Troupe" in the New York Skit Skat Comedy Festival, and in 2009 was nominated for a New York Innovative Theatre Award for the production of Cirque Du Quoi?!? The Fordham Underground Comedy Troupe was recently named "most fearless troupe" at the 2010 Toronto and 2011 Chicago SketchFest. His experience in business, law and performance translates into exercises and applications that turn the message of Q-Principle into an integrated action plan. | | | Ali Farahnakian Improv Coach, Life Coach, Facilitator Function with Q-Principle: Reality Coach, Life Coach, Facilitator, Improv Learning, Research & Curriculum Design Ali Farahnakian (SAG, AEA, WGA, AFTRA) studied extensively with Charna Halpern and Del Close in the 1990s at the ImprovOlympic and was a founding member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, with whom he helped to create the critically acclaimed show "Virtual Reality." At The Second City, he was part of the Jeff-nominated show "The Revelation Will Not Be Televised" (directed by Jeff Richmond), for which he also received a Jeff nomination for Best Actor in a Revue. His one-man show "Word of Mouth" was an official selection to the US Comedy Arts Festival 2001 in Aspen, Co. He was a writer on Saturday Night Live during its 25th anniversary season and received a Writers Guild Award Nomination. He was in Tony Kushner's "Homebody/Kabul" (directed by Frank Galati) at the Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago and BAM Harvey Theater. He has been in numerous films, many of which have gone to Sundance. He is the owner of The Peoples Improv Theater and Simple Studios. He performed over 1000 shows with Comedy Sports of Denver before moving to Orlando to perform Improv at Disney's Comedy Warehouse, Disney's MGM Studios, and at SAK Comedy Lab. For the last six years Nate has been performing Improv and sketch comedy at venues all over New York City and was recently a 2007 Andy Kauffman Award semi-finalist. Nate has been teaching Improv and behavioral engagement principles for many years. He taught Comedy Sports. His experience in connecting Improv with critical behavioral realities in business as well as in personal life situations makes him a tremendous asset to the Q-Principle team. | | | Scott Eckert Improv Coach, Life Coach, Facilitator Function with Q-Principle: Reality Coach, Life Coach, Facilitator, Improv Learning, Research & Curriculum Design Scott Eckert has been improvising since 1999 and currently performs every Wednesday at The PIT with The Faculty and Big Black Car (Three-time ECNY Award Nominee for Best Improv Group, 2005 winner, 2007 D.C. Comedy Festival Selection, and 2006 Chicago Improv Festival Selection). Scott also appears with The PIT's Team Olympus. In addition to improvising, Scott co-wrote and performed seven two-person shows with Ellie Kemper and two sketch shows with "As Sparks Fly Upwards." He has appeared in 11 original plays by the Old Kent Road Theater and has studied Improv in New York and Chicago with instructors including Ali Farahnakian, Charna Halpern, Susan Messing and Miles Stroth). At Princeton University, Scott wrote his senior thesis on the theory and history of American improvisation, and he also directed the Improv group Quipfire! Scott’s high energy and ability to connect with audiences through creativity made him a popular coach and educator. He joined the Q-Principle team to bring an additional level of innovation to a program that consistently generates results. | | | Pat Shay - Improv Coach, Life Coach, Facilitator Function with Q-Principle: Reality Coach, Life Coach, Facilitator, Improv Learning, Research & Curriculum Design Pat Shay is a longtime student of Del Close who performed, coached, and taught at Del's theater, the ImprovOlympic, for 10 years -- on the national touring ensemble as well as two of the longest-running house teams in the theater's history: "Georgia Pacific" and "The Pat Shay Dancers." In Chicago, he also played leads in full productions of "Taming of the Shrew" and "Hamlet," and performed under Mick Napier's direction at the Annoyance. He has coached and taught improv teams at theaters throughout the U.S., and run workshops for student ensembles from many universities, including Miami of Ohio, UMass, Harvard and Columbia. He recently spent four months performing for The Second City aboard a cruise ship and now finds terms like "port" and "starboard" creeping into his everyday vocabulary. Pat’s high energy and ability to connect with audiences through creativity made him a popular coach and educator.
